Dave Krieg threw two touchdowns, Curt Warner ran for two more and Norm Johnson added two field goals as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Chicago Bears 34-21 at Soldier Field spoiling Walter Payton's last regular season home game. Krieg was 17 of 26 for 214 yards including touchdowns of 12 yards to Daryl Turner and 75 yards to John L. Williams. For the Bears, Mike Tomczak was 21 of 36 for 298 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Overall the Bears committed five turnovers, allowed four sacks and committed seven penalties. Walter Payton rushed for a game high 79 yards on 17 carries and scored on touchdown runs of three and five yards.
