Japanese villagers worship a monster and his son who live in an island cave. Some circus people hear about them, go to the island to capture the monster and wind up shooting its son. Then the trouble starts.
Due to a self-imposed ban on this film from Toho, the only version ever seen by western fans has been a re-edited version, dubbed into English with inserted scenes of John Carradine. This is the true uncut version the way it was meant to be seen.
